Macquarie Government has over 15 years’ experience in providing Government agencies with secure, reliable and proactive hosting services. We provide secure internet gateway services to 42% of federal government agencies and are a government centric team focussed on increasing our ‘footprint’ in the Government market by providing Secure Cloud services to agencies.

About the role

The Macquarie Government Senior Gateway and Cloud Engineer will be part of a highly skilled engineering team committed to the support of a portfolio of Government customers that utilise our Secure Internet Gateway and Cloud Hosting solutions, with prime technical responsibility of a specific group of customers, and is responsible for providing third-level engineering, technical guidance and specialist infrastructure support. 


The role includes the following:


  • Service Assurance of the technical environment, managing infrastructure lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching and configuration in accordance with standards and compliance requirements.

  • The provision of third-level engineering support for Incident and Problem management activities.

  • Implementation of new Technical solutions (Service Delivery) for our customers, participating as part of the team to provision new services, upgrade existing or enhance the solutions and services provided to our customers.

  • Engineers will also validate the quality and standards compliance of complex technical solutions (as detailed in Scope of Work (SOW) documents), prior to service deployment to ensure high quality customer outcomes and ensure that service levels are maintained. 


About you

You are senior engineer with extensive experience across a broad range of networking and systems.

In-depth hands-on experience in the following core technologies:


·       RHEL

·       Scripting

·       vSphere and UCS

·       VMWare or other virtualisation technologies



·       Windows 2016 Server

·       Firewall, VPN, Routing and Switching

·       F5 load balancing

·       HP and / or Cisco switching and routing

You will participate in after hours on-call support. You possess security clearance or are eligible for it. This means that you will need to be an Australian citizen.
