Macquarie Government has over 15 years’ experience in providing Government agencies with secure, reliable and proactive hosting services. We provide secure internet gateway services to 42% of federal government agencies and are a government centric team focussed on increasing our ‘footprint’ in the Government market by providing Secure Cloud services to agencies.
About the role
This role will be responsible for defining, developing, and managing Macquarie Government’s security product offerings. Managed Security Services, via MG’s SIG (Secure Internet Gateway) are an important differentiator for MG’s go to market. The Product Manager is responsible for the ensuring that MG continues to deliver against the LAG (Lead Agency Gateway) deliverables, as well as the new product development roadmap.
You will recognize a customer need and then design and develop new security products and services. You work with the sales team to makes sure they are successful.
You will be responsible for:
Gathering and prioritizing product requirements from customers and internal Sales & Account Executive stakeholders
The development and documentation of Product Requirement Specifications which capture product concepts and business impact
Robustly testing product concept with stakeholders to ensure acceptance and understanding prior business investment
Managing cross functional resources and deliverables within a project team of IT, Engineering, Service Operations, and Service Delivery
You have a genuine passion for cloud and security and are technically literate. Making an impact is what gets you out of bed in the morning and you like to make a difference.
You enjoy customer engagements together with the sales team to ensure your products are successful. You will be an influencer and strong relationship builder with the ability to work cohesively with lateral teams in the organisation and rally resources through efficient internal coordination and a customer-oriented mindset. Effective stakeholder management, project management, influencing, and internal relationship building skills are essential.
You will need this skill set and background to be successful:
8+ years technical experience in IT security (infrastructure/ networking security such as HIDS, DDOS, not desktop like antivirus or firewall)
5+ years technical experience in either Technical Product Management or Technical Pre-Sales
Self-driver with high level of ownership, accountability and persistence
Extensive direct hands-on technical hosting/cloud/services experience or IT/technology degree with extensive product experience
Broad and deep understanding of hosting/cloud foundational technologies such as networking, security, virtual machines, servers, OS, database systems
